Charles and Linda George write separately and together on a wide range of topics. Their nonfiction books for children include books on snakes, dogs, sports, states, civil rights, biographies, science and technology, and comparative religions, for half a dozen imprints.
Linda graduated with a BS degree in Elementary Education from the University of Texas at El Paso, and Charles earned a BA in Spanish and History from Tarleton State University in Stephenville. They came out of college and straight into the classroom. For more than ten years, Linda has taught elementary and junior high students, every grade K-6, teaching Reading, English, and Writing
Charles graduated with a BA degree in Spanish and History and teaches high school students (Social Studies, World Area Studies, and Spanish).
Harlequin Historicals published Linda’s historical romance, Gabriel’s Heart, in 1998. After more than 50 nonfiction books for children, Linda has returned to novels. Ask a Shadow to Dance was published by Five Star in December, 2005, and another of Linda’s historicals, Silver Lady, was December 2007. Her book, Fill-in-the-Blank Plotting, will be released in Fall 2008 from CrickHollow Books.
Linda taught for the Institute of Children’s Literature in Connecticut for six years. She loves sharing with aspiring writers what she’s learned over her 27-plus years as a professional writer. She is available to speak at writers’ conferences on her favorite topics – strong writing, coping with rejection, and her plotting method.
